Plath wins Grand Award from National Association of Remodeling Industry for San Francisco loft project

Plath & Company General Contractors has received the Grand Award from the San Francisco chapter of the National Association of Remodeling Industry for their work in transforming a South of Market loft, designed by architect Nestor Matthews of Matthews Studio, into a contemporary residence designed for entertaining and displays of photography. The NARI judges, in making the award to Plath, said that the Tehama Street project exemplified "a beautiful execution of detail; compelling brush strokes of design movements; wonderful restraint and clean execution in the overall idea and detailing and good function in the compact space." The project also won a first-place award in a separate residential interior design category.

The new loft is highlighted by circular shapes--including a curved wall that separates the kitchen from the living room, a curved shower and circular stairs leading to sleeping space. A total of nineteen awards were presented to contract and design professionals at the event.
